Arc Flush Study for the Installation of Permanent Power in Tailing Facility

Scope of Work-  Rotaflow conducted an arc flash study for the installation of permanent power for an Oil & Gas Tailings facility which encompasses the circuit breaker at switchgear and all downstream equipment including MFT drying and MPSU polymer system. This study provided protection settings for new protection relays and arc flash levels of downstream buses. In addition, harmonic
information for existing VFDs in MFT drying package were analyzed and documented.
The main purpose of this study was to determine the effects of permanent power supply to the Tailings Reduction Operations System 6. This study examined the short circuit, harmonic, protective device coordination and arc flash energy levels for the System equipment. The results of this study have been utilized to determine the protection settings and arc flash hazard data for use during installation and commissioning of this facility.
